Marry the witch, Dominic, for the sake of your brothers. Love her, even though you do not.   Dominic Lamont’s father’s words haunt him, and the man’s expression plagues him incessantly. However, he cannot love the witch who violently kidnapped three of his brothers. Instead, he boards his beloved frigate, Ban-dia, and plans to rescue his brothers himself. Pursued by his cousin, an officer of His Majesty’s Royal Navy, and the vile witch, Charlotte, he sails the Caribbean in search of his brothers. When he discovers a beautiful, dark haired woman atop the treacherous Poseidon’s Finger, he is drawn to her innocent sense of adventure, and his heart takes an unexpected leap.   Aged care nurse, Keziah Mitchell, dreams of living in the past. She also dreams of true love, a rare commodity in her grey, plastic world of 2070. Gifted a magical book by one of her charges, she is drawn into its enchanted pages and sent back in time to the year 1770. There, she finds herself on board Ban-dia with pirate captain, Dominic Lamont, and falls in love with his radiant grin and roguish ways. Living a life of mischief and pleasure, Keziah becomes the Pirate Princess, but the secrets she keeps soon draws suspicion, and the interest of dangerous admirers.   The journey to love and happiness follows turbulent seas, and when Dominic is dragged into the damning world of witchcraft, Keziah must destroy her own demons to free him, and his brothers, with the one ability he detests.

I want her, but I’m her boss… Griff So, my secretary quit to move state at the worst time. Now I can’t even see my plush CEO desk with the contracts piled high. I need a new P.A. ...and fast! And just before I completely lose my mind, in she walks. Julia’s way over-qualified for what I need, but I’m desperate. Smart, beautiful, bright, and funny. It doesn’t sway my decision to hire her... much. Nope. I shouldn’t even think about going there. I must be fifteen years older than her. And I’m her employer… not to mention, her dad’s, too. That’s got sexual harassment written all over it. I can’t stop dreaming about tasting her forbidden fruit. But I’ll just have to keep my fantasies to myself. Julia I got fired from my last job for helping the needy. Jeez, what an asshat! No money. Couldn’t make rent. Until an opening at my dad’s work saved the day. And to my surprise, it wasn’t the old man CEO I was expecting to work for. Instead, his tall, handsome, hot-as-hell son who sat across the desk from me. Older than me, yes, but his low, velvety voice had my toes curling in an instant. Two months later, I’m still having naughty thoughts about my boss in my ’alone time’. Maybe he feels it, too? Maybe he secretly wants me, but he never shows it. And with a 15-year age gap between us, neither one of us is daring to make a move. Then out of the blue, my whole world collapses when my past catches up to me. I’m a strong woman, but right now I’m scared, feeling threatened and alone. Will the man I’m falling for scoop me into his arms and save me? Craving Daddy’s Boss is a standalone older man, younger woman office romantic comedy with a touch of suspense. No cliffhanger, no cheating, and HEA guaranteed!

'An extraordinary story of the bond between a mother and her son. Four-year-old Danny's voice is utterly convincing, heartbreaking and ultimately full of love and hope,' Catherine HallFour-year-old Danny lives with his mother, Natalie, in a small Sussex town. Life is a struggle and when they are threatened with a benefits sanction, salvation appears in the form of a Job Centre employee called Karen. But Karen's impact is to reach far beyond this one generous gesture, as she and Natalie embark on an intense relationship.Told in the voice of an intelligent, passionate and unusual child, Tale of a Tooth is an immersive and compelling look at the impact of domestic abuse on a vulnerable family unit. What Reviewers and Readers Said:'Allie Rogers strikes gold again A book about issues that isn't issue-led, and a book about childhood that isn't mawkish and emotional - Allie Rogers has, in Tale of a Tooth, created a tale that's original, powerful and long lasting. Danny's voice is readable, memorable, and may have just changed my mind about child narrators' The Book Bag'It was a challenging read in terms of exploring the often taboo issue of domestic violence between women, which makes this a hugely important novel. Exploring a narrative which is too often kept private, but nevertheless, desperately needs to be told, Allie Rogers is unflinching in her descriptions of bullying and brutality which can be found within relationships. For this, she deserves to be congratulated.' Jess Richards'Via a unique, compelling, utterly original voice and characters I loved from page one, Tale of a Tooth tells a critical, timely, heart-breaking story of a little boy and his mother navigating the hard parts of life with grace and wisdom and, most importantly, each other.' Laurie FrankelCHAPTER ONE Meemaw was yellowy-orange this morning. When I waked up she was sitted by the big window and her dressing gown pulled tight round. Her head in the outside for having a rolly.Morning, sleepyhead. Smoke was turns and dances round Meemaw. A smile. Bluey smoke but in it a bright Meemaw of yellowy-orange and a sunshine day.  Last of rolly gone Meemaw squashed it out. Throwed it away. Closed the big window thump.  If everything’s quick this morning then we can go to the library after. Sound good?   I did a nod of yes.  Does Spiney want some Rice Krispies of his own today? When Meemaw’s yellowy-orange it is good things. I spooned my krispies and Spiney had his in the egg cup.      Meemaw at the end of the Cretaceous era when it was the mass extinction was it a meteor came from space?Well that’s what it says in some of the books, isn’t it? I did another nod.

'Burns with a fierce intensity. Passions are ignited and family dynamics laid bare. A triumph.' Paul Burston'This book surprises, turn after compulsive turn. ' Melanie FinnWhen NGO worker Nick drops unexpectedly into the lives of Pieter and Sara Lisson, he feels he has found the parents he never had. Nick is enraptured by their lives of splendour and acclaim as much as the stirring setting of the African city where they live, but he soon senses a secret at the heart of his new family. Nick then meets Riaan, the Lissons’ son, and so begins an intense connection that threatens to erupt into a relationship neither had ever considered. In the shadow of the Brandberg, the glowing mountain that stands at the heart of the desert, Nick will discover that his passion for Riaan is not the only fire which threatens his newfound home. What Reviewers and Readers Say:‘This is a remarkable and beautiful book [its] power is through its realism and its subtlety’ Bookbag'Sharp and evocative' Times Literary'Stunningly written' New York Times'Completely absorbing, eminently readable...' Daily Mail'A formidable novel ... The writing is searing and fierce, even the most minutely explored character has a complexity that allows for empathy' Read and Review blog'Gives you time to think and appreciate the lyrical quality of the writing and the unique landscapes' Madhouse Family Reviews'A complex, mesmerising read ... McNeil has created so authentic a narrative that the reader becomes utterly immersed ... a triumph of a book' Linda's Book bagI‘Nice part of town,’ the taxi driver said, as soon as I gave him the address. I couldn’t read the tone in his voice - envy, rue, contempt. Perhaps all three.   We began the long ascent of the mountain. I craned my neck to look at the city beneath us. I could see where I had come from now, the wide-mouthed harbour flanked by half-finished highways. This was where I’d been marooned for days. Some of the overhead flyways simply stopped abruptly halfway along the roadway, like the highest platform in a diving pool. From up here the gigantic Chinese container ships and oil rigs looked so much smaller. I allowed my eye to skate over the ship, but even so my heart lurched as its green hull flashed at me in the mid-day sun.  We kept ascending, so quickly my ears popped. I could smell jasmine and frangipani through the car windows. We wound through tree-darkened avenues. The houses expanded with each metre climbed until they were full-blown palaces. Finally the taxi delivered me to a sandstone-coloured structure perched on the side of the mountain. It looked like a house you might find in a Dutch village, adapted for life in the subtropics.    ‘I didn’t know it was possible to live this far up,’ I said to the taxi driver.   ‘It is if you’ve got enough money.’ I buzzed the gate and spoke to a woman’s voice - Sara, I supposed. The gate slid open and we glided up the drive, so steep it felt like being in a funicular. Stout plants clambered over the terraced levels on either side of the driveway; they were spiky and bulbous at the same time, with avid, rubbery leaves.   A blond woman with jade green eyes descended the steps to the house. She seemed to float; her sense of ownership was that complete. She was long-legged, dressed in white trousers and a sand-coloured blouse.    ‘Pieter is out running,’ Sara said, as she gave me her hand. ‘He’s training for the marathon.’   ‘Oh.’ I nearly said, but I thought he was a writer. I’d never pictured a writer running a marathon.   ‘Come in, let me get you some coffee.’

SHORTLISTED FOR THE 2018 POLARI PRIZE'Life affirming and triumphant' Mark A. Radcliffe'Vivid and touching… this book left me haunted long after I put it down' Umi SinhaThe heat is oppressive and storms are brewing in Brighton in the summer of 1982. Little Gold, a boyish girl on the brink of adolescence, is struggling with the reality of her broken family and a home descending into chaos. Her only refuge is the tree at the end of her garden.Into her fractured life steps elderly neighbour, Peggy Baxter. The connection between the two is instant, but just when it seems that Little Gold has found solace, outsiders appear who seek to take advantage of her frail family in the worst way possible. In an era when so much is hard to speak aloud, can Little Gold share enough of her life to avert disaster? And can Peggy Baxter, a woman running out of time and with her own secrets to bear, recognise the danger before it’s too late? What Reviewers and Readers Say:‘A tender, beautifully paced and deeply moving debut… Little Gold herself is a wonderful centrepiece… and in Peggy Baxter, Rogers has offered up one of the most engaging heroines I have read in a very long time. This is a book about individual struggle that manages to be both life affirming and triumphant.’ Mark A. Radcliffe, author of Gabriel's Angel‘Such a wonderfully moving and atmospheric novel, full of very real and very touching relationships. A brilliant portrayal of the pain and wonder of leaving behind childhood, beautifully evocative of a Brighton summer in the 1980s.’ Catherine Hall, author of Days of Grace‘Reminiscent of Scout Finch, Little Gold is a great addition to literature’s endearing child characters. Vivid, touching, sad and frightening, this book exposes the dark underbelly of 1980s Brighton and left me haunted long after I put it down.’Umi Sinha, author of Belonging‘A gripping and yet tender novel, and the characters of Peggy Baxter and Little Gold are brilliantly handled. Longlisted for the Voss Literary Prize 2017'Skylarking is a beautifully-written love letter to female friendship, full of the passion, envy and confusion of growing up and growing apart' -- Kate RiordanKate and Harriet are best friends growing up together on an isolated Australian cape. As the daughters of the lighthouse keepers, the two girls share everything, until a fisherman, McPhail, arrives in their small community. When Kate witnesses the desire that flares between him and Harriet, she is torn by her feelings of envy and longing. An innocent moment in McPhail's hut then occurs that threatens to tear their peaceful community apart.Inspired by a true story, Skylarking is a spellbinding tale of friendship and desire, memory and truth, which questions what it is to remember and how tempting it can be to forget. What Reviewers and Readers Say:‘It’s testament to Kate Mildenhall’s skill that you become so immersed in the lives of best friends Kate and Harriet you feel the dread, but hope it will not be so … fans of Emily Bitto’s The Strays and Favel Parrett’s Past the Shallows will find much to admire here.’ Herald Sun‘[Mildenhall’s] research of life on a remote cape in a young colony manifests in lovingly drawn descriptions of the natural landscape… the novel's strength lies with following Kate's and Harriet's stumbles and skylarking from childhood to womanhood; and their close, sometimes stifling, friendship.’ Thuy On, Sydney Morning Herald‘It is hard to believe that Skylarking is Kate Mildenhall’s debut novel, as her ability to create both character and atmosphere is impressive.’Annie Condon, Readings Monthly‘It's no surprise to learn that debut author Kate Mildenhall counts Geraldine Brooks and Hannah Kent among her favourite writers. Inspired by a true story, Skylarking recreates a particular time and place as evocatively as they do…this is a beautifully written book, with lyrical descriptions of the desolate yet beautiful landscape.’ AFR Magazine ‘Mildenhall is at her best when she is exploring the complex relationship between these two young women as their burgeoning sexuality begins to cause problems within their tiny community.’ Books + Publishing‘Kate Mildenhall’s impressive debut novel is filled with the light and air of its rugged coastal setting … the perfect backdrop for Mildenhall’s powerful evocation of a passionate, intense relationship between two young women ... Mildenhall takes this historical case and re-imagines it with such sensitivity and insight that we feel this must be how it truly happened.’ Emily Bitto, author of The Strays‘The storm-lashed coastline of the Great Southern Land is the setting for this poetic, slow-moving tale of the friendship … an evocative yarn.’ Australian Women's Weekly‘Skylarking is a strikingly real and deeply moving meditation on adolescent friendship in all its complexities, faithfully rendering both teenage envy and the depths of love between two girls. The bush comes alive; one can almost hear the sound of the crickets on a hot evening. But above all, it is a heart-wrenching work.’ Olga Lorenzo, author of Salt Creek ‘Author Kate Mildenhall evocatively brings to the mind’s eye the lives of two young girls in Victorian-era Australia.’ Better Reading‘Skylarking is a brave, beautiful and richly textured book which delicately explores the fault lines in love and friendship, revealing their thrill and loveliness as well as their darker sides: jealousy and heartbreaking regret’ Lucy Treloar, author of The Light on the Water
